i was inspired by barb fernald's wire drape forms to be used with thin, floppy sheets of pmc...
i made a splishy-splashy

a ziggy-zaggy

and a meandering-bumpy...

i draped on the meandering bumpy and got this...

kind of uninspiring, but more attractive from the open side.

i was thinking of closing it up with a smooth sheet of untextured clay, but i might just leave it open and drill 2 holes and string a pearl in the interior.
for some reason, i'm not really smellin' what the wire forms are cookin'...so i went ahead and made some drape forms out of polymer...i'm not sure why those seem to me like they'll work better...

i probably have to do a slow air dry (not accelerated on the cup warmer) on those...i imagine the pmc would stick to the baked polymer drape form if i popped the 2 onto the cup warmer...

Well, I like your little drape form. I'm picturing some glass head pins in there. Or the pearl. I like your idea of keeping it open. You crack me up, not smellin' what they're cookin'!
But the glass head pins...I'm hoping to make a batch next weekend!
I took a dip with my friend Cindy today. So, you don't have to go swimming with me next weekend.

i love those glass headpins, too, and am hoping to make those as well as some small beads on small mandrels (i hope that's possible). are you bringing wire for the headpins? what gauge? fine or sterling or argentium? bring your suit anyway, you might have to go in with me!!!!

I'll probably bring some fine silver and some argentium. I also thought I would bring some copper. I'm not sure if the silver would melt? Are Kelly's head pins on silver?
I like 20 gauge, but I think 22 gauge would be good too. I'm getting excited! I'll pack my suit and towel, but I'm glad I've already done my March dip so there will be no pressure.

i DO have some glass headpins on sterling from kelly...maybe you melt the rod and dab it onto the cold wire...i can't wait to find out!!!!

I've used uncured polymer and formed over it and put it on the cup warmer. The heat cures the polymer and dries the clay. It didn't stick at all - so worth giving it a go. Also used the cured polymer as well.

Like the pearl idea.
