more polymer clay inlay

here are a few pictures of the process...

that bittersweet chocolate brown is a fair representation of the color i mixed up, but the blue is MUCH brighter in the photo above than in real life.

1st color inlay...carve and add color 2...

and 3 and 4 and 5...

these babies have been sitting around in this state for a few day because i realized that i love to put the colors together, but i don't love to sand. and i like wet-sanding even less. i'll get to them eventually....
and then this little lovely - i couldn't bear to fill the carved spaces...i just love the way it looks like this.

I love all of your creative pursuits lately, Holly. The circle necklaces with the sunstone are absolutely stunning....I particularly like the asymetrical one... but both are such beautiful designs. And your polymer clay inlay looks like a really interesting technique. I haven't got out any polymer since September so maybe trying something new like that would be fun! Cute birdies too! Thanks for sharing your creative ideas!

that's such a nice thing to say, marly...it feels to me that the creative pursuits are not HALF of what i wish them to be!

Holly, I love what you are doing with the polymer clay. The process sounds exciting, and the results are beautiful. I hear you about the sanding. Tedious! But the results are so rewarding.
