options and questions

hmmmm....i like both these color combination. considering using both (!) and wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to avoid that weird shattered/layered look in the orange one...obviously i need more sanding/polishing.....

I love both color combinations! Will all of the pieces be on the same necklace? You could make each one different and get even more color. or not. Just a thought.
I don't know about the "layered" look in the polymer. Finer and finer emery paper? I made some cane decorated eggs with Fimo, years ago, (from the Ford and Forlano workshop) and I think I ended up doing a final buffing by rubbing them against a scrap piece of wool carpet. The hand finishing wouldn't get as hot as a buffing wheel. If you could have a muslin buffer on your flex shaft, (dremel) with no polishing compound, and a slow enough speed not to heat up and melt or mush the polymer...that might work. I'm guessing. haven't ever finished a piece that was silver and polymer combined. (Yet!)
I love seeing these color combos. pretty cool, Holly!

i really thought about doing them all different (on the same necklace) but then i thought perhaps that would be too much of a good thing...gotta work my way up into a LOT of color. what i decided on was the purple and green combo, but with a lighter purple (pics to follow). i'll be stringing with peridot and amethyst beads.

Well, I can't wait to see this necklace. I really like the purple and green combo. It will be so rich with several pieces of it, and with the peridot and amethyst beads. I'll be checking back frequently.
Here's my new favorite time suck. Its actually pretty relaxing to have on in the background and check with from time to time. A live web cam of a hummingbird sitting on her nest. She has two eggs that are about to hatch any day. They are the size of tic tacs!! Check it out. Maia might like it too.
