some fired bronzclay pieces
here are just a couple of the pieces i've made while experimenting with bronzclay.
i've learned...
*thin sheets (2-3 cards) of bronzclay get all wonky and warpy (in an unattractive way). i've been using 5 card thicknesses to achieve predictable, smooth results.
*water etching works beautifully.
*liver of sulpher makes lovely dark brown patina on bronze (i have yet to see any beautiful colored patina from the firing process).
* all seams must be joined extra-securely with scoring and thick slip and then even a little pressure for 30 seconds or so, or they will pop apart.
