who knew

a garage door could simply tear down the middle. this was discovered as the crack/tear/weakness there in the center caused the door to pull away from it's tracks which caused the mechanisms in the motor of the opener to slip and grind against each other and break.

replacing the 2 doors and openers will significantly reduce our emergency fund. money comes in, money goes out. i wish it would stay a bit longer, when it comes.

there are garage door websites that allow you to upload a pic of your house and "try out" different doors. we're thinking of going with faux wood this time....

Holy garage door crack, Batman! That looks like it could be dangerous!

it might be, if it would go up! but it's entirely broken...stuck down. i hate buying stuff for the house that's utilitarian, not particularly attractive, EXPENSIVE and necessary. why do you have cuts on both thumbs?!

Oh. Ha ha,. Once cracks every winter and just takes forever to heal. The other one I sliced off a bit of the tip with a knife. (Not on purpose, duh.) They are both doing a little better today. They only hurt when I floss!

Spending money on necessary expensive utilitarian stuff for the house = no fun.
