holiday break review

hangin' around on christmas day...

multi-generational jam...evan had been waiting all year to get together with these fellas...he's playing with his second cousin (?MY cousin...what does that make him to evan?) ryan and his great uncle alan...rock on....

an unexpected snow delayed our trip to vermont, but we got a good snowman out of it!

evan and his pop got 3 beautiful days of snwboarding in...

and we got to swim in the heated pool OUTSIDE....

and the girl with mono who wasn't allowed to snowboard COULD climb an indoor rock climbing wall since she was tethered to ME at the bottom!

I love seeing your happy family, and I love seeing you back on your blog! I missed you, but I am also realizing it is damn hard to keep up with a blog, especially every day. I'm going to see how long I can do it at that pace. (My guess is a week!)

Only because I memorized it (had to?) at a family meal many summers ago do I know the answer to your cousin question. Your cousin, assuming he's your first cousin (ie. one of his parents and one of your parents are siblings), would be Evan and Maia's first cousin, once-removed. The once-removed refers to the difference in generations. You and your first cousin are in the same generation. Your kids are one generation removed from him.
However, if your first cousin has kids, then those kids are second cousins with Evan and Maia. (No once-removed stuff because they are of the same generation.)
Clear as mud?
That heated pool outdoors looks divine!
