personal challenge reprise; or continued, actually

remember that sketch from a couple days ago? here are the silver necklace elements. now on to color.
on occasion, i am taken by surprise by how much pmc shrinks. this is one of those times. i thought i'd have more room to play with color between those circle elements, within the bezel. they're pretty small; probably too small to attempt concrete (that will be a future challenge). so i will probably go with polymer clay. my heart keeps saying purple, but my head keeps saying green. green is the safe route...i ALWAYS go with green when i want color. there's a little twinkle of orange sneaking around in my head, too....and orange looks so fun and sassy with raspberry.
hmmm.

These are really cool! Can't wait to see what you do with the color. Those bezels are so perfect and thin. I hope you are working on this today, or at least this weekend. You are inspiring me to get to work. (I have a piece to write for the Working Waterfront first, and I am procrastinating like crazy.)

those bezels are 3 sheets of pmc paper laminated together with water- i can't manage wet clay that thin, i'm too clumsy. later today i'll get back to this...hope you finish the WW piece so you can get into the studio!

Wow. I think I would be very clumsy at laminating PMC sheet. I would probably melt it. How do you deal with the seam?
Finished the WW piece, but only got to some cleaning up in the studio. You? Concrete or polymer clay?

polymer. trying 2 different colorways...darkishish/dullish purple or orange/hot pink...gonna bake up both color combos and then gouge out the one i like least...the seams are pretty easy to manage with just a bit of water and a beveled edge...
