in-progress...

...rings.
i made the bands separately and fired them flat at 1650 for 2 hours (a la kate mickinnon). now i have to "embed" them into fresh, wet clay. some polymer possibilities are included in the photo. my dilemma is this....embed? does that mean push in and leave to dry? shouldn't i use slip or scratch up the surface or something? if i just push it in and fire it, will the long, hot firing make the pieces fuse together? that's what i'm assuming....we'll see!
firing hot and long will be great for strength, but i like to have stones (specifically sunstones and garnets) in my rings, which i will not be able to do with that hot firing (making bezels is not my greatest strength)....

...pendant.
sort of a box with river stones....am imaging tiny pearls or polymer clay ballies set in resin. thinking about the bail....
on the left is an idea in polymer for links for an all fine silver chain....
