syringomyelia

apparently, i have a cyst within my spinal cord. the good news-it's not a tumor. the bad news-you're not supposed to have a cyst in your spinal cord. it can cause annoying symptoms. i don't have too many of them yet (and might never get them) so it's just one of those things you live with.
on to more fun news...

i finished my wooly socks at 5:25am today. that's a noro yarn; i can't remember the name. i don't think i'll be making socks again soon.

i spent last night putting together a few pairs of earrings.

i actually don't have any pain from it. stiffness in my back and occasional dizziness. 3 brief bouts of involuntary eye rolling (hideous, nauseating and absolutely frightening the first time)last winter...i can look forward to possible pain, insensitivity to heat/cold in my arms, weakness in my limbs...
the scariest thing for me is if the use of my hands was affected, but that doesn't seem to be anything that would happen soon...

well, damn it, that's all scary. can you have massages to relieve stiffness and (psychological) tension, or would that exacerbate things? i ask because i know a very nice massage therapist who'd love to get her hands on you one of these days...

Wow, a cyst? Do they say it might go away on its own? Sheesh. I'm glad its not a tumor, but it still stinks to have anything impacting your spinal cord. Scary.
Meanwhile, the socks are fun! Two of them! I usually quit after the first one. I love the earrings, (of course.)
Can you time that eye rolling thing for trick or treaters on Halloween?

LOL!!! that would be a great party trick!
somehow it's not too hard for me to be ok with all this...i keep thinking "thank god it's not one of the kids"...i'll be fine...until i'm not, and then i'll figure out what to do...maybe i could start with a good massage therapist!!!!! seriously, i am starting physical therapy to get the neck muscles as strong as possible...and i could certainly see become a regular customer/patient/client of your mom's, lizzie...
